Pumpkin Ice Cream

I remember the first time I ate pumpkin ice cream. Grandma Yoder had several grandchildren spend the night at her house and the next day we went to a pumpkin patch. I don’t remember the pumpkin patch at all. I do remember the ice cream freezers set up in the barn. I was apprehensive about pumpkin ice cream, but Grandma promised it was good, so I took a taste. Oh, yes, it was good!

For so many years it was hard to find pumpkin ice cream. I’m glad that now even Edy’s is on the band wagon so it’s available at every grocery store! But the best place to get pumpkin ice cream is Cold Stone.

This morning I got an email from Cold Stone about their pumpkin pies. Yum, those are good! I bought one several years ago and it did taste good. Sadly, about half way through my piece my mouth started to feel funny and I realized there were nuts in the crust. I wonder if they could make a nut-free crust?

I love the great flavor of pumpkin ice cream, but I also love the good memory of spending time with Grandma. Sometimes I find myself feeling a bit homesick when I eat it!

I have to admit I’ve never tried pumpkin ice cream. We have a Cold Stone nearby I might have to stop in.

I just tried pumpkin ice cream for the first time this season - homemade style! I absolutely loved it! But then again, I love pumpkin pie - so loving pumpkin ice cream was not hard at all!!

I have never had pumpkin ice cream. It just didn’t sound appealing to me.
Now on the other hand, pumkin pie is my favorite vegetable! :-)
BTW, October 30 was my birthday, my last one (unless I live to a hundred, then I can start again).
