cranky stomach

When Nora recently wrote about people being cranky about not having snacks at a mandatory training, I laughed a little. Everyone knows that people are happier when they get snacks, but surely those men could have been at least polite to the presenter, even with donut-free stomaches.

Last week I went to a two-day conference. I happily ate the donuts available in the mornings. I unhappily ate the dessert-free lunches and found that I wasn’t in the mood to listen to the lunch presenters. If my stomach had experienced a nice double chocolate brownie, my head may have been able to better frame the lunch experience. My outlook did brighten a little when I learned that there were afternoon snacks available. But, my cynical side didn’t appreciate the snacks being placed where the upper management’s seminars were located & not where the regular people’s seminars were.

That’s right, people. I’m taking the side of the trash men that Nora spoke to. The quality and quantity of the food is just as important to me as the quality of the conference.

I also have been thinking about snacks and meetings. And I’m on the side of the guys. If donuts were promised there should be donuts, damnit.

I went to a luncheon yesterday. A yummy chocolate wedge of goodness. I did pay more attention.
