I can feel your thick hair pain.
When my current hair guy pulled out both the thinning shears and razor, I knew that we were going to have a long and happy relationship. Now if I could just get him to do it for $14. I think they must stand around in hair dressing school and think up punny names for their salons. Maybe it is part of the licensing process. I'm a reader via Cliff via Jerry.
OK, that's too funny! Got my haircut on Saturday and the lady had to take a cigarette break half way through!! Her smoking really bothers me but she can really cut thick hair so I keep going back...
You're doing good. It sounds like your lady. Mine does it for $15 but every time I have to remind her to wash it before cutting. Afterwards I go home and do a few things 'better' with my scissors.
..
Oh brother! Small town or not you never know what kind of hairstylist you're going to get. Everyone should start with a shampoo..especially people with thick hair as its been our experience they are the ones who do not wash their hair correctly. You can thin hair with razor, thinning shears,or shears. And it doesn't make a difference if the Stylist knows what she is doing. As for names yeah that is why we spend big bucks time and effort to get licensed so we can use the lame name for our salons...Do your job and let us do ours you can NOT do it better. Bet you didn't tip the $14 dollar stylist either.
That doesn't make sense. How can it not matter if a person knows how to do a job? If it takes a lot of effort to learn how to be a stylist, either the education is useless or it *is* important to know how to do a job.
Really now, I can't think of a single profession where competency is irrelevant. Before that, you say "you never know what kind of hairstylist you're going to get." Seems to me that you're griping just for the sake of griping.
Doesn't make a difference if the stylist doesn't know what they are doing, that is just stupid.
Too many stylists don't have a good enough idea of what they are doing. Far too often do I get home after a haircut to find spots that the hairdresser I went to has just plain missed. And the spots tend to be where they only have to use clippers on (not scissors). In the last six years I have basically had one hairdresser who cut my hair properly (i have thick hair), sadly like with the original poster and his experience with hair dressers, that one quit the business. |
