Well, dear, you were not a difficult child. Nevertheless, my fundemental theory on parenting is that you get what you "deserve"
Yes, Terah may not have been a difficult child but she grew out of that.
I must say that this post really had me laughing. Isn't it comforting to know that there are so many professionals out there that need something to do. I for one won't be worrying about Jacob.
Oh, I didn't mean to say that I was difficult. I just knew how to get what I wanted when I wanted it. And if I thought something was stupid then I wouln't do it. Like the time I funked the first preschool screening test. When Mom bribed me with ice cream, I passed the second try with flying colors!
I should add an update... The main point of the home visit was that they thought he had colic and they had some suggestions for helping him. The next day his colic-ish behavior drastically improved. It was like Jacob knew he was in trouble!
Really the biggest help was getting Jacob on a bedtime routine. It was surprisingly easy to do and dramatically improved his daytime naps, evening personality (aka screaming), and going to bed for the night at a reasonable time. He does still have occasional bad evenings, but they're so few now that they don't even phase us! |
