John and I have noticed several examples of fathers being portrayed as worthless and stupid, or just absent at best. It's difficult to find a children's book that has a positive male role model. Many commercials show fathers that mess everything up while mothers make everything better. It's amazing how many baby clothes say "I love Mommy" and how few say "I love Daddy".
We were discussing these stereotypes as I was trying to get Jacob to burp. No burp was coming so I said, "Jacob, you're a boy and boys are supposed to like burping. Come on!"
Nope, no stereotypes in this house!
